Sydney & Wollongong Fishing Report

Whiting and bream starting to show up across the flats in the hacking and the warmer weather is starting to entice that top water bite. Ian Davison caught his fair share off the top in the shallows over the weekend.

Jackson Sweet has been fishing pretty well the last few days in the Hacking River. He landed and released a nice Kingfish yesterday on a Slug-Go plastic, and then landed a few more fish today including this thick 72cm flathead he got on a 110mm Squidgy Flickbait.

Xavier with a nice 40cm bream caught on a Cranka Crab out of Sydney Harbour recently.

Checch with a nice little snapper caught using Catch Stingaz and Livies Plastics.

John managed a nice flathead off Cronulla beach this morning before work using a soft vibe.

Reports of kingfish being both speared and fished off Sydney, and also noting the average sized school Kingfish are getting bigger and bigger.

Fergo is pictured with a nice Jewfish taken off a northern Illawarra beach late last week. He fished the top of the run-in tide along the edge of a gutter using a Fuze Pulse 115mm Soft Vibe.

Mitch, Kaden and Ed had a good little dive off Wollongong’s northern suburbs over the weekend coming home with a mixed bag of crayfish and abalone.

Bass creeks down south starting to fire up with some nice sized chunks starting to get caught. Alan Day is pictured with a nice fish he caught late last week.

Joe and Amanda fished St Georges Basin recently for this cracking Jew and a 90cm+ model flathead.

Huw is pictured with a nice 80cm+ dusky flathead caught yesterday on the south coast.

Ian from our Taren Point store just got back from a trip up in North Queensland chasing GT. He fished with black magic poppers on the surface and landed a whole heap of quality fish. There was that one that got away though, a cracking 25kg fish he lost at the boat as it slid it’s way off the gaff. He also mentioned MVP of the trip was his new Yeti Colster stubby cooler, which he said he’d leave out in the sun all day long in that heat and it didn’t even warm up!
