The accumulation of 60 years in a single reel. A true innovator since its release in 2004, many of Daiwa's finest technologies find their genesis in the Certate evolutionary timeline. The legendary Real Four design technology broke new ground when it was unveiled to the world in the original Certate, with the four pillars of, Real Engine, Real Control, Real Endurance and Real Custom, delivering reel strength, refinement, and precision. The constant pursuit of innovation and evolution continued with the 2010 Certate debuting Mag Seal to the angling world. A revolutionary new system, Mag Seal provided protection and performance like never before, with its scientifically designed magnetized oil forming an impenetrable seal to prevent, dust, water and salt intrusion into the reel to maximize reel longevity and performance. The 2013 and 2016 Certate models further enhanced Certate's reputation with Mag Sealed Line Roller, Mag Sealed Bearings, and Monocoque body elevating the legendary reel to a new level of performance and design. The pursuit of excellence continues. The Certate LT combines Daiwa's most advanced technologies and designs to deliver anglers a reel with few peers. Made in Japan, the foundation of the new Certate is its aluminum Monocoque body. A Monocoque body eliminates the need for a side plate and allows a more rigid body to be made and larger gears to be used for improved winding power and torque. The Certate LT's forged machine-cut Tough Digigear is 2mm larger in diameter than its closest competitor. Combining the benefits of our MQ Monocoque body, and new gear design, 19 Certate is more durable, smoother & more powerful than all others. 19 Certate's Monocoque body is our most advanced, lightest and strongest body we've ever developed for a Certate. Strength is one thing, but smoothness of a fishing reel is often the easiest feature to feel and 19 Certate again raises the bar in this realm. Rotation efficiency is up 15%, creating an effortless feel when retrieving. This increase in efficiency is thanks to three main parts. A super-rigid stainless steel main shaft, MQ Monocoque body and the precision cut forged aluminium Tough Digigear. Combining additional features like Long Cast ABS spool, Mag Seal, ATD drag, one-piece Air Bail, new Drag Knob, Perfect Line Stopper, Machined Aluminium Air Handle, and Air Rotor combining to make the new Certate LT our most advanced Certate ever. Light Tough (LT). To use a reel that is both LIGHT and TOUGH, has been the dream since anglers first laid their hands on a reel. In 2018, Daiwa introduced the new concept of creating a reel, that combines the contrasting elements of LIGHT and TOUGH. The traditional approach when trying to achieve lightness is that it comes at the sacrifice of strength or durability. Even the slightness reduction in weight can have a compromising effect on strength, while the pursuit of durability brings with it its own limitations and implications. Reducing weight without foregoing strength and durability was a complex, expensive task, exclusive to the realm of hyper performance machines such as formula one race cars. The Certate LT's new LC ABS spool is 45% lighter than the previous model 16 Certate, it also boasts 5% longer casting performance thanks to the innovative LC ABS spool lip. The new shape aluminium machine-cut handle is also lighter, reducing 25% from previous 16 Certate. The removal of the anti-reverse lever further reduces weight, and also eliminates an entry point for water and grime inside the reel body. The landscape changed with the introduction of Daiwa's LT Concept. A concept that allowed Light and Tough to coexist, and Daiwa's dream to become a reality of bringing both elements to reel design.
