Sydney & Wollongong Fishing Report

A few anglers fished off Botany Bay over the weekend and caught some cracker Jewfish on live Yakkas.

A Taren Point customer fished around the drop-off at Lilli Pilli using the Jackson Gallop Assist Fall Edition for a nice Kingfish around the 60-70cm mark.

Nick who comes into our Taren Point store fished the Woronora River over the weekend with the Squidgies Pro Prawn Wriggler 65mm soft plastics and landed these very nice Flathead and Whiting.

Mitch, Brook and Fergo fished early before work on Tuesday in Botany Bay for a nice mixed bag of Flathead, Trevally and Snapper. The Flathead were caught on the Renosky Pro Shad Soft Plastics and the Jackson Pygmy Vibe Lure, the Trevally were caught with the Jackson Gallop Assist Long Cast Lure, the Nyoro Nyoro Lure and the Fuze Fin Bait soft plastics, and the snapper was caught with the Trout Tune Lipless Lure. Mitch had a monster on the Prism Lure but he lost it near the boat 🙁

Snapper have been caught in great numbers off Merries Reef in Cronulla over the last few days on soft plastics, with reports of fish to 3.5kg.

Jibbon Bommie is producing some nice sized Sand Flathead in around 40m of water.

John’s been fishing with the Jackson Dart Magic Lure lately and cleaning up the Bream. This weird and wonderful Japanese lure has a great little darting action resembling a struggling/dying bait fish.

Good size drummer are being caught off the Blowhole at Kiama using peeled prawns.

Josh has been smashing Lake Illawarra’s Flathead and Bream again from his kayak. He caught his fish with the Jackson Komachi Lures, the Pygmy Crank Lures and the Flow Shad Lures on Wednesday and bagged out on Bream in 45mins, and landed a healthy lizard.

Ian from our stores is enjoying his trip in Thailand, fishing completely wild and pretty untouched waters way up river for Snakehead and other exotic species, pictured is one of the many he caught.

Mitch just got back from a trip up to Swains Reef (the bottom of the Great Barrier Reef) where he fished and spearfished. In terms of fishing there were three lures in particular that were working best up there while fishing the strong current in 20m of water. The Gallop Assist Long Cast 48g Lure was the best performer, he was catching fish basically every cast by letting the lure sink to the bottom and giving it a lift or two before hooking up to Coral Trout and Coral Cod. The Hayabusa Kick Bottom 80g Lure worked just as well on the Coral Trout with the same action, and the Gallop Assist 40g Jig worked a treat as well!
