Sydney & Wollongong Fishing Report

Port Hacking has been fishing well for Flathead, Bream and Squid. The Squid were being caught in the deeper areas off the front on the run in tide.

Gary and Bob fished out of Botany Bay on Monday for the great catch of Teraglin pictured above.

Good catches of Flathead being caught of Garie Beach in the National Park in 35-45m of water.

Bonito are being caught while trolling hard bodies off the cliffs around Malabar.

We wish all the anglers fishing the Port Hacking Game Fishing Tournament this weekend the best of luck!

Tailor numbers have been increasing around Windang Island with plenty of fish to 45cm being caught on salted pillies, they’re great fun on light gear!

There have been some nice Bream being taken off beaches out of gutters on the shoreline, and Flathead are also lurking on the edges of these.

Andrew from our Wollongong store has been catching his fair share of Snapper lately, the Z-Man Jerk Shadz doing the damage.

Yellowfin to 50kg are still being caught wide off our coast.

Mitch is pictured with a nice big Drummer he speared a couple of days ago off Sandon Point, along with a pan-sized Snapper.

Mitch also fished with Jesse Price on Anzac day for a nice mixed bag of fish. They ended up with Snapper caught on the Quiet Beats Soft Vibe 18g, Flathead on both the Teppan Long Vibe 115mm & the Gallop Assist Long Cast, and a Bonito on the Sea Falcon Swimming Squid Jig.

St Georges Basin has been firing lately for both Snapper and Jewfish, with reports of a massive 1.4m Jew caught and released recently.

Josh Robbins also fished the Basin earlier this week landing a nice Flathead on the Jackson Pygmy Area Crank Lure in colour YIK, and a weird and wonderful Fan-belly Leatherjacket on the Money Bait Egu Jig Trailer Plastics.

Ian from our stores fished the Basin on Monday as well for a nice catch of Bream. He was fishing in 3-4m of water using the Squidgy Bio Tough Fish 70mm Soft Plastics in colours Cracked Pepper and Pumpkin Seed.
